Jeter’s right – pitching wasn’t our problem last night, but the bats were dead against the (as @JoshSternberg says) “sick-ass Cliff Lee pitching.”  I have confidence in Burnett, and it gives CC another day of rest.  Just wish I had confidence in the Yankees offence… #ALCS /via @ESPN Derek Jeter expressed support for Game 4 starter A.J. Burnett, and suggested the issue was in the batter’s box, not on the mound. “We have confidence in everybody,” Jeter said. “But regardless of who is pitching, we’ve got to score runs. I don’t care who is on the mound. If we don’t score, then it’s kind of hard to win games. Yeah, we have confidence in A.J. He’ll be ready and come out and hopefully we can score some runs.”
